Time is running out
This piece is called "Time is running out" and it's about the world running out of time to keep the ocean clean and think of new ways to keep it clean. I was inspired to make this because I have always been interested in the ocean and how we only know about 5% of “it”. The problem is that if these oil spills keep happening we may not be able to keep the exploration going. I think this piece is a reflection on me because I have always had a soft spot for nature and especially the ocean and how fascinating it can be. I chose to create an hourglass as my representation because it represents what little time we have left to develop a way to keep oil from ruining the ocean.
A night among the stars
The emotions that I wanted to portray are calm and happy, I tried to do this by making the scenery look like a place were you go and relax without being disturbed and have no worries. I was inspired to make this piece from being able to lay outside and just admire the stars, it's a lot better to be out in the country rather than the city to look at stars. I chose to create this because it's always fun to just look at the stars and talk all your problems away. The technique that I use was layering, I used different photos and layered them together, I also used a star stencil to "cut" out stars and made different sized ones. This piece is also connected to my other piece because I have a fascination with space and the sea.
Anarchy
For this project the emotions that I portrayed are pain, ignorance and hate towards complete strangers for no reason. I expressed these buy making it seem that they have graffiti-ed hateful things on the buildings. I also showed that they have ignorance towards the lives that they could have ruined. The thing that inspired me to make this was that there are people who don't get their way and sometimes they take it out of hand, destroy things and riot.
